ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. I received a B.S. in Animal Science from Mississippi State University, a Masters in Animal Science from Clemson, and a Ph.D. in Nutrition from Clemson. I became a registered dietitian in 1976. I started teaching nutrition upon graduation and I have taught at three universities over a period of 37 years: Winthrop University, The University of Southern Mississippi, and Western Carolina University. I am now retired. I proudly served 10 years in the Navy Reserve, including two years active duty. I completed a tour of duty in Vietnam as a Navy Corpsman. The year 1976 was a significant year for me, I became a born-again Christian while teaching at Winthrop. I quickly became a student of God's Word and I taught as a lay-teacher in several churches, Sunday school, and home groups, teaching both physical nutrition and spiritual nutrition. I have also been a Chaplin in three county jails for over 15 years.
I have published four editions of a clinical nutrition textbook in the past and some scientific papers, but since retirement, I have been organizing my scriptural notes and started writing faith-based books. It is my passion to not only lead people to the Lord but to help them know who they are in Christ and rise up and take their rightful place in the Body of Christ. Revised 12/14/23
